US City Branding
Through the US city branding project, I practiced logo design and developed a brand identity. This branding based on the city of New Orleans, Louisiana, is largely inspired by the rich culture of the city, its history, and its bright architecture. The typeface used in my logotype logo is inspired by the city’s funky energy. Additional versions of my original logo each have a specific purpose and solidify this brand as a system. The colors used throughout are based on the festival of Mardi Gras, with an inclusion of blue to diversify the palette. The distinct primary and secondary color palettes bring a level of professionalism to the stationary package. The trumpet seen throughout many designs is inspired by the history of jazz in the city and allows for greater visual interest.
