This collection of functional ceramic pieces are from a wheel thrown project in Ceramics I. It was through the creation of these pieces that I learned how to throw clay into forms on the wheel and finish pieces through processes including trimming, glazing, and firing. These pairings of pieces were created with the intention of being used together as sets. Sets including the “Glossy Green Bowls” and “Striped Set” use surface decoration techniques including waxing and unglazed clay. While, sets including the “Eggshell Mugs” and “Mixed Cortado Cups” show the use highly manipulated forms through both the throwing and trimming processes.
